CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES:

Al-ihsan is a registered charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom (1175982). It has always stood at the forefront in organising various activities for the upliftment of South Indian community in London and wider community in India. The organisation has extended its hands to the unfortunate souls who were severely subjected to the communal atrocities in Burma. Our special envoys were dispatched to the inheritors of this calamities who were harboured in Delhi and other surrounding areas. The amount collected to help them was designated and distributed solely for their infrastructural development.

Another recent incident Al-Ihsan actively involved was the devastating flood which engulfed Kerala in 2018. The whole state was under a constant shock for months. The unexpected disaster was unprecedent in its style and the way it embraced the Kerala provinces. The millions of people became homeless, their house partly or completely submerged and destroyed, they lost their belongings, infrastructures have been damaged, epidemics and diseases erupted, and many other losses which affected and changed the way they lived. At this saddening juncture, Al-Ihsan in collaboration with other charity organisations in the United have been able to raise almost quarter million-pound sterling for the destitute in Kerala. Few of the members of the organisations themselves physically travelled to the afflicted areas to help the inhabitants who needed the help most.

Al-Ihsan also extends their hands in helping the community in London who needs the help most. One of the members of the community, when met with unexpected death leaving his family and children orphaned, Al-Ihsan with their community spirit and expectation of the pleasure of Allah have been able to raise almost ten-thousand-pound sterling in three days. Apart from these activities, the organisation also supports various activities for youngsters including their occasional Islamic and entertaining trips, award ceremonies for their achievements in their academic career and other educational activities. Now Al-Ihsan has become one of the powerful faith charity organisation with its active and rigorous workforce.

Another initiative the organisation put forwarded was 'feeding poor' programme. Al-Ihsan distributed food and clothes to the deprived communities in different villages of India including Mysore, Gujrat, West Bangal, Kashmir, and so on. The fund was collectively raised here in the UK and the volunteers visited the remote locations in India for their distribution. With the generous support and sincerity of the community members, around £10000 has been spent for this initiative.

ONLINE ISLAMIC MADRASSAS (MAKTABS)

The older generation of Kerala who pioneered in advancing and settling to the United Kingdom have been blessed with a very proud full time religious education in their childhood. It was their very saddening concern for years that when their children grow up in a western atmosphere, they wouldn’t be able to educate their children religiously the way they have been blessed with. Understanding this concern, Al-Ihsan has proposed a new system which is completely practicable and useful; the online madrassas. Now, Al-Ihsan is running a very successful online madrassa in which hundreds of students have been imparted with religious education. It has been possible with the strict mentorship of parents, and their active intervention to rise their children with Islamic spiritual settings.

MONTHLY SPIRITUAL CIRCLES:

Londoners are busy with their schedules of work and other commitments. Unlike back home, India, it is very imperative that they should work and involve with other initiatives to make their ends meet. Due to that reason, they could not secure a highly skilled professions and careers. For that reason, to earn a reasonable amount of income in a month, they must work with sweat and blood. In this situation, under such stressful environment, Al-Ihsan, to create and cultivate in them a serene and tranquil mindset in the busy schedule, has decided to hold a spiritual circle in every month in the different parts of London.

For last ten years, without any intervals and interruption, every month, people get together to taste the fruit of this spiritual session. MADURAM MALAYALAM

 MADURAM MALAYALAM

Maduram Malayalam’ has turned out as a very popular initiative Al-Ihsan proposed for the community. The prime motive behind this initiative was to promote the mother tongue of the Keralite community, Malayalam, a language which is spoken in Kerala. The organisation understands that the home language has a greater influence in nurturing the culture of the Keralite community in their later generation. Every language has its own culture and civilizational aspects. The have their own benefits and defects. The Keralite migrant community who settled in the UK in 1960’s and after have completely absorbed their local language in its complete aspects. However, their children who are born and bred in the UK due to the lack of exposure to their mother tongue distanced from it. Al-Ihsan initiated this project to familiarise the children with the South Indian culture and  heritage for which the Keralite community is very proud of especially with its natural beauty, customs, food, and other resources.
